CHUKKA CARIBBEAN ADVENTURES
The Pumpkin
Bottom Project

Chukka Caribbean Adventures Ltd., the leading nature adventure company in the Caribbean conducts its tours through communities to highlight the usually unseen natural diversity of Jamaica’s history, culture and people. At our Blue Hole Estate Property in Hanover, we are surrounded by the Pumpkin Bottom and Black Hill communities. At this location, we operate the Horseback Ride and Swim, ATV and Dune Buggy Tours. We also host Polo Events including Hanover Charities Match on an annual basis.

In 2008, with the assistance of Hanover Charities we were able to raise $1,000,000.00 Jamaican dollars for community projects.

We decided to embark on a community pride project in the Pumpkin Bottom community. Pumpkin Bottom is an informal settlement area and comprises of approximately 150 extended families. All projects were executed by residents.

The Community Pride Project includes:

  • Community Upliftment and Beautification - Fencing, Bushing, Planting of Trees and Painting
  • Playground for the Children
  • Scholarships

As soon as we are able to raise additional funds for the Community, we would like to implement the following:
